Ballet
DescriptionIt is the foundation of all dance. Students are highly encouraged to study it first or along with other dance forms.
Required Attire
Females - Pink ballet shoes, pink tights, black leotard, skirt optional, hair in a bun (if hair is short pull it out face and off neck), no jewelry Males - Tight white t-shirt black dance pants, black ballet shoes. Pointe classes follow same attire with pink Pointe shoes.
Combination Classes (3-4 yrs and 5-6 years)
DescriptionDesigned to prepare children for upper level classes. It combines several techniques to introduce the children to many forms of dance. There will be no observation allowed in the classroom. You may watch on the monitors in the lobby area. Siblings and parents peering through windows and doors can easily distract young children. There is also no need to enter the classroom to assist your child with shoe changes or bathroom breaks. If an instructor needs your assistance, she will come to the lobby to get you.
Required Attire
The attire includes: leotard, tights, ballet shoes and tap shoes. Each age group will have a particular color.
Hip Hop
DescriptionStructured form of street dance often found in music videos. It is designed to teach coordination, strength, quickness, agility, and endurance.
Required Attire
Anything moveable and comfortable; tennis shoes or sneakers.
Jazz
DescriptionStylized and technical form of dance that requires a ballet foundation.
Required Attire
Any style or color leotard tights or leggings: jazz shoes.
Jazz/Drill
DescriptionPrecision form of jazz. It focuses on technique and placement. Its focus is for dancers who aspire to be on a drill team and want to improve their skills. The precision, placement, strength, and flexibility.
Required Attire
Any style or color leotard tights or leggings: jazz shoes.
Lyrical
DescriptionCombination of ballet and jazz technique. It is more expressive in nature, relating to the spirit, nature, joy, and freedom of the individual dancer.
Required Attire
Any style or color leotard tights or leggings; lyrical shoes, jazz shoes, ballet shoes or bare feet.
Modern
DescriptionContemporary form of dance that educates the student in terms of moving through space dynamically. Modern dance requires a ballet foundation. Improvisation is also covered in this class.
Required Attire
Any style of color leotard unitard, half tops, tights, leggings, and bare feet.
Technique
DescriptionInvitation-only technique class. An instructor will invite a dancer to participate in this class when he or she sees a dancer excel in his or her class. The dancer must be disciplined, focused on technical training, and a hard worker. This class will cover all forms of dance throughout the year.
Required Attire
Black leotard; tights or leggings; tap shoes, ballet shoes, jazz shoes.
Tricks, Turns and Jumps
DescriptionTechnique and stretching class that concentrates on flexibility, strengthening, turns and jumps.
Required Attire
Any style or color leotard leggings or tights; jazz shoes.
Tap
DescriptionDevelops rhythm, musicality and coordination. Dancers will practice rhythmic patterns and combinations with tap shoes.
Required Attire
Anything moveable and comfortable; black tap shoes.
Musical Theater
DescriptionChildren, ages 9-12, will learn and study Broadway-style choreography, presentation through song and dance, and even some audition tips.
Required Attire
Any style or color leotard tights or leggings; jazz shoes.
